Jane Elizabeth Cullum was born in Surrey, and spent her formative years on the Isle of Wight. After attending university in the UK and Canada, she spent much of her working life as a Speech and Language Therapist working with children and adults with communication difficulties.
Jane went on to take a postgraduate diploma in Dance Movement Therapy at the Roehampton Institute, London, and worked for several years as a freelance Dance Movement Therapist. She is passionate about the importance of art, nature, creativity and movement in the development of the whole person, and especially in early childhood development.
With a passion for drawing and painting, and an ardent interest in environmental and peace issues, Jane's work aims to celebrate the colour, beauty and movement of the natural world.
Using mainly water- based media and pencil, Jane's current focus is on painting the landscapes of New Zealand, mainland Europe and the UK, especially the hills and skies of Shropshire, where she is now based.
Her work has been praised for its skilful use of colour and light, and is held in private collections in the UK, New Zealand and America.
She exhibits regularly, and tithes a percentage of the sale of works to various charities, especially those focussed on the environment, peace issues, and the creative arts.
